Insulin is a hormone that helps move sugar from your bloodstream into your cells and it also promotes fat storage in body.
High insulin and insulin resistance reduces the secretions of satiety(Fullness hormones) Like GLP1, Amylin and Leptin and increase the effect of hunger hormones that's why obese people are hungry all time and tends to overeat
Do you notice why some people remain lean even eating more and moving less?
Research shows that obese or overweight people have high fasting insulin levels than lean people.
As insulin is fat storage hormone, it increases fat storage in many people and increase their body fat.
Normally, when we eat food insulin spikes and after insulin levels decreases to their normal level.
But in obese or overweight people after insulin spikes insulin do not go back to their normal level instead it remain high and increases fat storage. High Insulin causes insulin resistance and insulin resistance increases high insulin.
Both increasing each other and cycle go up untill insulin resistance fully develop and people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
As insulin is energy storing hormone, energy store increases in the form of fat.
